With the broad scope of the Global Health course at Ohio University, students in the course were losing their way, missing essential geographical knowledge and getting lost in the syllabus.

our solution

Through learner and needs analyses, we found new opportunities to reinforce general knowledge about the world’s continents, their locations and basic information through two targeted, interactive learning tools for global geography.
But we didn’t stop there. We dove into the whole of the course content and student forum comments to map out for students how and where to access critical course information with a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document. We also added narration to key presentations with high-quality audio, made the presentations and audio available for download and Web streaming, and developed extended academic support strategies for the instructor.
Our final step, complementing the independent digital course improvements, brought the instructor full circle with a video biography to encourage interaction and increase approachability for students in need of academic support.

EV improved and updated an already existing online blackboard course. The staff was very knowledgeable and offered great suggestions to improve student engagement and interaction within the Global Health Course. They were easy to work with and very flexible. EV was also extremely helpful in troubleshooting when the class launched and ran into some technical difficulties.
